[Bug 658] New: Web link to KDL source tarball is broken

https://www.fmtc.be/bugzilla/orocos/show_bug.cgi?id=658

Summary: Web link to KDL source tarball is broken
Product: KDL
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: Build system
AssignedTo: orocos-dev [..] ...
ReportedBy: kiwi [dot] net [..] ...
CC: orocos-dev [..] ...
Estimated Hours: 0.0

On this page

http://orocos.org/kdl/source

the link to "KDL 1.0 beta1" is broken. Links to this file

http://people.mech.kuleuven.be/~rsmits/kdl/Orocos-KDL-1.0.0-beta1-Source...

I see a "kdl.tar.bz" file (which doesn't build, BTW) and a "kdl-svn.tarbz" file
(which does build) in that directory.

I updated the kdl-source webpage. Only the kdl-svn will still be available. The
tarball should be updated every day.

So KDL will no longer have any fixed point releases? v1.0, v2.0, etc.

We will, if the api stabilizes. I recently filled the "dynamics" gap,
so a stable release is on its way.

Modifying the tarball everyday invaldiates the checksum for any
package manager. :-(

No chance of doing some kind of fixed point release? IMHO KDL is
pretty damn stable in it's current form, both in terms of API and in
terms of reliability.

Any room for compromise here?

I'll make a tag of the current revision and put that online also.
