Sneak preview of orocos/dfki toolchain documentation (!!! relevant for the Orocos Toolchain as well!!!)

I pushed all the documentation we have for the Orocos/DFKI Toolchain.
Unfortunately, its status is "sneak preview" right now as only oroGen is
really ported to RTT 2.x, not orocos.rb (yet)

Anyway, you can have a look at

http://orocos.org/dfki/index.html

(if someone tells what to put in the .htaccess to have
http://orocos.rb/dfki point to dfki/index.html, that would be helpful).

The oroGen/typeGen part is valid right now, and applies to the Orocos
Toolchain as well (same tool). You can click on the diagram on the first
page to go directly to the tool you are interested in.

It is eventually on my plans to extract an 'Orocos Toolchain'-only
documentation out of it, but I unfortunately think that I won't have
time until I leave for Japan (end of this week). The source for the
webpages is on gitorious in orocos-dfki-toolchain/doc.git, so if a brave
soul wants to do it, he must feel free ;-). The HTML is generated using
webgen. The gitorious description of the 'doc' repository describes how
to generate it.

Done using an extra .htaccess file in the dfki directory.

We need to better distinguish (or merge!) between the Orocos toolchain and the
Orocos/DFKI toolchain. It's now very confusing, because the latter also
includes the former, at least when looking at the docs.

I want to give this time to grow and settle, but could you already extend the
section 'What’s the difference with the Orocos Toolchain ?' with:

"The Orocos Toolchain is the standard infrastructure required to build Orocos
components. It contains the real-time toolkit, typeGen/oroGen code generators
and supportive components for deployment and task browsing."

Then continue with the existing part: "The Orocos/DFKI toolchain is centered
around the use of oroGen for component writing, and the Ruby language for
system deployment and data analysis.... etc"

OK ?

Sounds fine. I'll do it.

Yes, I'll see if I can find it. I believe it is a rewrite rule.

The quality of the docs and tools is just amazing. I hope it will become the
standard tooling for all users.

There is a dead link to the bootstrap.sh file at
http://orocos.org/dfki/startup/index.html
